Movie moments where the music works wonderfully.
Doctor Zhivago (1965) - Balalaika scene
This early scene, featuring the son of Omar Sharif as a young Yuri, was the first time that cinema audiences heard the famous 'Lara's Theme'.
Starring Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Rod Steiger, Alec Guinness, Tom Courtenay and Omar's son, Tarek Sharif. Screenplay by Robert Bolt, based on the novel by Boris Pasternak. Directed by David Lean, with an Oscar-winning score by Maurice Jarre.

Needful Things (1993) - 'The Arrival' (Main Titles) scene
Просмотров 11921 день назад
The novel on which this film is based starts off with a quaint portrayal of small-town life, and only as the chaos slowly rises does the reader start to realise that the new shopkeeper in town is not who he seems to be. The filmmakers decided, for better or worse, to do away with this slow tease. This piece by Doyle is clearly music to announce the arrival in town of someone devilish. Starring ...

Polish composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek passed away on 21st May 2024. This scene is a perfect example of how, in just a few bars of music, a composer can help establish a perfect sense of pastoral serenity, thus laying the groundwork for the changes that are about to happen. Starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Julie Christie, Radha Mitchell, Dustin Hoffman, Freddie Highmore, ian Hart, Kelly Macdonal...

Polish composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek passed away on 21st May 2024. In this opening scene, he kicks off his Oscar-winning score in style, using the montage as an overture, and giving us a taster of the music and emotions that are to come. Starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Julie Christie, Radha Mitchell, Dustin Hoffman, Freddie Highmore, ian Hart, Kelly Macdonald, Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones. ...

In October 2016 I started this channel with the ‘Montage’ scene from ‘Swiss Army Man’. Nearly eight years later, this channel has just crossed the 100k subscriber threshold. I think this brief clip from the same film is a fitting way to celebrate this moment ☺️😎 Thank you to everyone who watched, commented, liked and shared the 666 videos uploaded so far. And of course a huge thank you to the 1...
Schindler's List (1993) - 'The Perlman Family' scene
Просмотров 113Месяц назад
This brief but heartbreaking statement of the main theme was not initially included on the film's soundtrack, but was then made available on the 25th Anniversary release in 2018. It's a very significant moment in the film, when the money-minded Schindler, who had just turned down the pleas of the Perlmans' daughter, starts to realise how he can use his position to save people. Starring Liam Nee...
Doctor Zhivago (1965) - 'Lara Says Goodbye to Yuri' scene

Lara's Theme is one of the most famous pieces of film music ever written. Some might say it's overused, both in the film it was written for, and everywhere since. But it had undeniable charm, and that elusive mix between romance and tragedy. As recently as 2018 it was being used in other films - such as Ocean's 8, seen here: ruclips.net/video/UK0FCbyeTGU/видео.html This scene, from the middle o...
Finding Neverland (2004) - "The Kite" scene

Polish composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek won an Oscar for this score, and throughout the film it's easy to see why. The music lifts the film - quite literally, in this scene. Starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Julie Christie, Radha Mitchell, Dustin Hoffman, Freddie Highmore, ian Hart, Kelly Macdonald, Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones. Directed by Marc Forster, with a sublime original score by Jan A.P....
Interstellar (2014) - 'Cornfield Chase' scene

Is there a more distinctive piece of film music from the past decade? Probably not. This very early scene was when the audience first started to realise they were listening to Hans Zimmer's finest score. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Ellen Burstyn, Mackenzie Fox, John Lithgow, Timothée Chalamet, Anne Hathaway, Wes Bentley, Casey Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Topher Grace, Matt Damon and Michael Ca...
Needful Things (1993) - 'Art & The Minister' scene

The main problem with this film is having to cram Stephen King's very thick novel, full of character background, into a two hour film. Still, it has its moments, often thanks to a devilish score by composer Patrick Doyle. This brief standalone piece is the highlight. It's a perfect fit for this scene, but the director and editor must have liked it a lot, because they copy-pasted it for the film...
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) - 'The Battle' (Intro) scene

This was the one piece of music that stayed with me as I left the cinema back in 2005. The film and franchise was clearly hoping to be the next Lord of the Rings, but if didn't quite reach those heights. Two of the reasons are on display here: everything looks too clean and neat - as if the costumes are all brand new; and the visual effects were at times painfully bad - like these giants and so...
Babylon (2022) - 'Finale'/Cinema montage scene

The main theme in this score - Manny and Nellie's Theme - is a versatile one. In its fast, jazzy variation, it weaves through crazy orgies and frantic film sets. Then, in its fragile version, it helps highlight the bond between two of the main characters. Here, in the final shots of the film, as everything is tied up nicely with an homage to the history of cinema and visual effects, the fast ve...

This chaotic but amazing film often relies on Justin Hurwitz's score to keep it together, and to guide the audience through the fast-paced subplots unfolding on screen. The opening fifty minutes are mostly crazy, but then, like a much-needed breeze of fresh air, this magical scene arrives. It's over the top, it's cheesy... but it's wonderful. Hurwitz manages to grace it with a piece of original...
Dolores Claiborne (1995) - 'Eclipse' scene

Eclipses are such surreal and yet brief events, that they're perfect for use in stories. Stephen King used one to great effect in his novel, and composer Danny Elfman helped transmit some of the other-worldly feeling of those few moments. Starring Kathy Bates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judy Parfitt, Christopher Plummer, David Strathairn, John C. Reilly and Bob Gunton. Screenplay by Tony Gilroy, bas...

This was a powerful scene ❤
Random, but I had this orchestral theme stuck in my head and after a long search I finally found what it was from. Childhood memory unlocked. Wow. Such a beautiful piece of music with a great scene.
Sadly this boy's life was ruined too.
One of the best movies ever made love the cinematography I wish I could find the whole version watch the whole thing
I think what sets this apart from other horror movies is that while most movies show the monster hiding, skulking around in the dark, these motherfuckers are walking around IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, like they own the place!
0:36 that sound is perfect for a suspense moment 👏👏👏
God, I really wish DreamWorks would make movies like this again. All we got now are forced toilet humor, fart jokes and pathetic pop culture references.
Back when you could say "shit" in a PG movie. The good ol days.
Anyone here in 2024
It's not the winning that's important, it's the taking part. 😊
I was playing the scene from the DVD of Powasqqatsi for my daughter, and she said, "That;s from the Truman Show" I never recoghnized it before, complete floored, and have seen both Koyanisqaatsi and Powasqqatsi dozens and dozens of times throughout the late eghties and nineties.
The Acolyte ruined what made Anakin's existence unique and different from all other characters in Star Wars. First, The Rise of Skywalker ruined Anakin's sacrifice by bringing back Palpatine (only to have Rey nerf him). Second, The Acolyte took away what made Anakin's birth special and mysterious to an extent.
1:00 so, 1st guy just poured gasoline in front of station without problems, then 2 guy passed all the guards inside and just casually exited front door just 15 second later bunch of cops reacted :D He should at least crawled on floor or something to make it more believable. Still love this movie ;)
One of the best film score pieces written.
a different time 😥😥😥
I saw this movie when it was in theaters back in 1968. It was an awesome experience. The scenes like this were captivating. Today, this movie would be called 'slow', but back then we didn't notice. We were too busy being enthralled.
Stormtroopers: “Hey, we know we’re supposed to let them escape, but this kid is still here shooting at us and he won’t lea… pzzzzzzt”
I do not know what is more chad Gimli blowing the horn of helm hammerhand. Tbagggin orcs from like 200yards away BLWLfAAAAHGHHHHHHHHHHGHHH BLLWWWAAGFGGHHHGAA or King Theoden saying to Aragon the lost heir king of Gondor, "let this be the hour when we draw swords together" two nations standing together for their survival in the world
Witt's expression = "Can't break boat crew two."
Looked cool when I was young. But shooting, holstering, then drawing and shooting then repeat is goof now that I'm a adult.
One of John Candy’s best performances. He was taken from us far too soon.
Too soon
Damn Hans Zimmer, you've done it again 😢
I like how he counts “5, 4, 3, 2, and 1” Smart but bad person.
why is Jesus white while he was not😬
allan dullas killed kennedy, there's the million dollar answer.
He did not say anything. He stayed silent. “Be still, and know that I am God”, or like great Ramana Maharishi said “Summa Iru(be silent)”. Deep spirituality and deep True.Tarrance is a genius!
I had to watch this movie in Grade 10 English class. My teacher was talking about how great it was. I thought it as lame as Hell. The year was 1999 and I was fourteen-years-old. I am almost forty now and I thought I'd give this movie another chance. I haven't changed my opinion.
It may a Hunk of junk but this old ship Made the castle running less than 12% Means it flies very fast with lightspeed
A brilliant scene. We wished him success but he remained a prisoner of his mind.
the problem for many people is being ignored rather than watched. because normal social relations are distorted by large group hierarchies, for which we never evolved.
눈물이 나네요.😢😢😢😢😢
This music is magical and mystical on the highest order. I never get tired of hearing it.
Fortunate son fits better😂
1:51 Leia almost looks scared of Vader in that shot
*SCENA MEMORABILE EPICA,il miglior film del 1979 mi mette i brividi ancora oggi, indimenticabile ♥️♥️♥️💔💔💔*
2:47 That's where the soundtrack stands out the most.
It's like qigong or tai chi. Slow, flowing intentional movements. I never saw it as dancing, more as a meditation, a re-centering.
Lord Lindsay is having way too good of a time there.
it will go down in the history of action movies for damn sure
I haven’t seen this movie since the 90s, as a kid , I loved it
The moment you realise you’re fucked up
this is last terminator. the new ones are shit. terminator ended with this movie
The Terminator succeeded in getting John and Kate to Crystal Peak so that they would survive the nuclear holocaust, but, since there was no food or water and they couldn’t leave, they died anyway and the human race was doomed. The computers were “30 years old” which meant the facility had been abandoned for decades. No supplies…no food…maybe there was water but the plumbing hadn’t been fixed or inspected for a long time. 💀
0:41 sends chills down my spine 22 years later.
Anybody else feel like Rolf was starting to break out of the nazi thing until he got himself back together? Like I feel like he started to want to leave with them
He was definitely thinking about it, but not for long, sadly 😔
Bro for some reasons i remembered thie scene vaguely 😅😅😅 so it wasnt a daydream good to know
1968 visual effects are so realistic .
3:25
just got done watching the Netflix series, this ending was way better!!! the score and the visuals are just insane...
So how exactly did these injuries occur?
